RAY MURRAY, INC. ACQUIRES NRG DISTRIBUTORS IN MIDWEST
- Creates stronger distribution network to propane and hearth product dealers -
Lee, MA, October 29, 2007 - Ray Murray, Inc. (RMI) announced today the purchase of the assets of NRG Distributors (NRG), a leading wholesale distributor of hearth and heating products to specialty hearth retailers and propane dealers in the Midwest. NRG has been in operation since 1988, and has an excellent reputation with its customers. They have a 44,000 square foot office and warehouse located in Flint, Michigan. "We're excited about growing our business in the specialty hearth retail channel, "said Michael Hopsicker, president of Ray Murray, Inc. "At the same time, the addition of NRG's warehouse and distribution facilities will enable us to better serve propane and compressed gas equipment dealers in the Midwest," he added. The combination of RMI and NRG will provide benefits to customers in the Midwest and Northeast by enhancing an already strong distribution and technical product support network, and by providing greater inventory availability through three stocking locations. The transaction will also be an excellent complement to Ray Murray, Inc.'s McTier supply business, which joined RMI in late 2006. Customers will continue to work with the same RMI or NRG sales and support teams to access the products and technical support they need to meet and exceed the demands of their business. All NRG employees are being retained as a critical component of the business.
Spring 2007
OPEN HOUSE 2007
Over 800 people were present for the Annual Open House, Trade Show and Educational Seminars. Visitors experienced over forty exhibits and attended a selection of nine educational seminars covering many aspects of the propane, heating and hearth industries. The weather cooperated for most of the day, and the festivities included a sampling of tasty food items prepared on the many grills being demonstrated, and a catered luncheon and dinner.
Reminding us that Ray Murray, Inc. is located in the rural beautiful Berkshire Hills, we were paid a visit by a couple of black bears during lunch and dinner. They certainly recognized a great event when they saw it. The female bear has visited us before. During the open house she brought her rather large boyfriend.

Watch for future announcements on an even bigger and better event in June, 2008.
